Katie completed her yoga teacher training in 2017 with Love Hive (now Free Love Yoga) in Portland Oregon USA where she continued to teach until the pandemic. She moved to Helsinki with her family in summer 2021 and looks forward to merging counseling and yoga with the creation of Hidden Sanctuary Wellness.
Katie holds an MSW from Smith College and is a licensed mental health therapist in Oregon (USA) who has been offering school based mental health services to teens for over twenty years. She has been honored to learn from many teachings including Deb Dana and Melanie Burns at the Kripalu Institute's Polyvagal Theory and Yoga Embodied Path to Well-being. Her foundational 200 hour yoga teacher training was facilitated under the guidance of Audra Carmine with supplemental wisdom from Kyra Anastasia Sudofsky.
Katie believes in social justice, racial equity, self-care for teachers and change makers, support for mothers and caretakers, and the power of community to heal the spirit and the mind.
